Rhyming isn't what makes a good poem, its the meaning behind it, and the message you are conveying, and how you convey it Though honestly I don't write a lot of poetry, only sometimes for someone I'm with on a special occasion because they love it But sometimes the poems rhyme, sometimes they don't - just depends. The best are sonnets (Shakespearean)...yes I'm lucky I actually understand, and can write in his format incredibly easily. There's a very nice art and skill to it...unfortunately far too often lost on those who don't appreciate it. But anyway. And before you go thinking I'm a poetic person - every girl I have ever been with, their parents could never understand if i was good or bad ha ha. To relax after a fighting match I'd read shakespeare, to get to my job as a manager I'd ride my motorcycle. After university I'd play football. And those are just the starts....basically I'm a walking paradox...so if you star to form one impression of the person who is me - remember that the opposite is also probably true ; Actually the same can be said for most things - only when we start to understand something do we truly start to recognize the opposite is also true. Until we start to understand we only have a superficial knowledge...once we understand the deeper parts to it, then we also realize all of the exceptions, and the fact that the "rules" of whatever we were seeking to understand, are very malleable. The irony is that only once we understand the "rules" can we know all the exceptions to them =)
