My back has been bothering me really badly for about a month now, and today i finally went to the doctor. He said i have scoliosis which is really a shock. I had to get x-rays and i'll get the results later. my day has been horrible, it's like a nightmare.

Stop lifting weights during the work out, (this might cause scoliosis, since you are so young and you are still growing). If your parents did not have this problem, then most likely you hurt yourself during work out. My heart is with you. Pray for you, too. I hope nothing serious. Keep me updated.

Lifting too much can cause it, but you never know what you can get at anytime.
Hope you get well soon.

I haven't lifted in a while so that definitely isn't it. my mom told me my great uncle and my cousin both have it, but they were both minor cases (like mine). today i woke up and was hardly in any pain. it was more of a dull ache than a sharp, crippling pain like normal. Two Aleves kept me virtually pain free for most of the day. i started to ache a few hours ago though.

What did the doctor say? After the X-ray? Are you going to have a surgery? Sorry about your situation.

I am sorry to hear this!
My mom and my little sister both have it. They of course are bopth taller than I too. I don't know if that has anything to do with it.
I hear that doing sit up will help strengthen your back muscles too.
Good Luck!

i did sit ups and my back felt better afterwards (and it gave my abs a nice burn) i haven't heard anything from the doctor yet, i think i'll know monday. i won't need surgery though, that's only for people with a 40+ degree curve which is gigantic

Usually, I do squats with about 285 lbs in sets of 5.
I had to quit doing deadlifts though. Deadlifts were making my fingers numb and tingling so I had to stop.
Bench presses help too 225 free to 285 lbs bench, by exercising other muscles that support your back.
I used to work out more, but once (or maybe twice) a week of using heavy weights are optimal.
I don't have scoliosis, but used to throw my back out a lot. I haven't thrown my back out in years, since I found the right weight training patterns.

apparently, the doctor still hasn't gotten the x-rays. they said they'd call us when he got them, probably on Wed. I don't see why it's taking so long. the x-ray place is no more than 30 minutes away from the hospital.

I did that on the day one you told me, I do not believe in " astral healing," but you guys (dagalvyi and you) have problems with your health, so I have to try "astral healing" on you two. I did several times to straighten your spine. (Don't tell your mom, or she will kill me.) Just stay away from lifting weights. Improper lifting weight will burden your spine, be careful with your exercise, try those exercise that will stretch your height. Like hang yourself upside down, this will pull your spine straight, and help you grow taller (this is what I do when I was teenage, this is the reason I am tall). Doctor cannot find anything, but you really have to watch what you exercise from now. ;D

I am glad you are OK, so I do not worry. I had remote viewing saw the problem is... the spine on the location of your hip.
