What medications can inter fer with AP's?
More specifically painkillers and headache relievers.

It would be the best, no medicine.
But if you have to, try those medicines which will not linger or stay inside your body.
The reason don't take medicines is because when the medicine intake will stay in the body, thus heavy the astral (soul), then you will have hard time to exit. Your soul become heavy, and when taking pop or weed as we call it, your soul is clouded with smoke... your astral (soul) will be soaked with smoke also, thus harder to be lucid in astral.
But once the drug or medicine effect is gone then you will be able to exit the human body.

I made sure that I am completely clean of medication for tonight AP attempt but I do have a problem.
I have to take a 24 hour allergy pill nightly (I skipped tonight's) or my allergies go crazy during the summer (meaning it'll be no problem through most the winter). But what should I do about that until then? Only take them on the nights that I practice AP?

Paxil = powerful mind altering drug...would only use it if you are one of the rare people who actually really need it it...stuff will turn you into someone else, local doc trierd to put my wife on it and she said it made her feel like a zombie |

From what I've come to understand - medications that do not affect your central nervous system, or that don't cross the blood-brain-barrier should be ok, and those are often the ones that you need. The problem is if you are taking medications that do affect your CNS, then it will alter your consciousness thus making it very difficult to project.
However, if you are on prescription drugs (for example an antidepressant) then you are always on it, and therefore your body and soul become used to it. In that case you should be able to astral project fine. However, those are only for normalizing drugs...those that alter your state of conscious (eg. marijuana) if used sporatically will cause you to fail, and chronic use will start to distort your body/soul disconnect, again making it impossible. So with normalizing (usually things prescribed by a MD) drugs, then continue to take them, otherwise your physical body will have withdrawal and negative effects, which will make it hard.
So basically: prescription - usually ok
Also - in regards to the last post - correct. ANY drugs that alter the CNS or that have psychogenic effects should be avoided (again, unless prescribed by a MD) as they seriously alter BOTH your brain behaviour and physical body, as well as distort the connection between soul and body. Do NOT take those. Usually what they do is either release too much neurotransmitter in the brain (so literally too many signals going everywhere), or something that gives a similar effect (without getting technical) that causes you the PHYSICALLY think you are lucid. This is NOT astral projection and is NOT lucid dreams. It simply causes a disconnect between your mind and body, making you "think" you are lucidly dreaming.
Do NOT take those drugs. The only ones you should take that affect your brain are those prescribed by a MD.
P.S. Can anyone tell I have a serious background in this area lol? I had to re-type this quite a few times to make it understandable without the jargon I normally use when it comes to neurology lol

Look at the bright side, we might be struggle to understand it, but we are going to learn something new.  This will increase our wisdom, imaging Hemingway using the medical terminology in school to impress his friends. This is why I do encourage Asagami that he does not change his writing style. It is kind of unique. |

Well if you really want I can use full out terminology, though then its a pain to understand. I don't agree with making it any less complex though, usually when people do that they feel they have to :dumb it down" so that people can understand. I disagree though. I think people are smart, and in general if you say something they will get the meaning out of it. If you use too technical or specialized terms, then obviously it won't make as much sense, since really we use technical terms once you are in the field so that you can differentiate between very small details. But making it at an entry level knowledge into the field - most people can understand, and don't want to be talked to any different because let's face it, a person can usually figure it out =)
Granted, then there are some people who I make fun of all the time. My favourite was a time I was volunteering at a hospital and the surgeon was talking to me and the patient and said "[the patient] has an edematous subclavicular joint" I was like "ok". After that the surgeon left the patient asked "oh my god that sounded bad, what is it?" my response "You shoulder is swollen". Granted from the surgeon's perspective he wanted to make sure (as I was learning at the time) that I didn't confuse the swelling with other types of swelling, for there are many types, so we have to differentiate between those tiny differences. But from an entry-level perspective, the end result is the same...the swollen shoulder. But if it were dumbed down to say "your shoulder's injured" that makes it too dumb, and not only is the other person insulted but they're like "you're an idiot, of course i can understand more, do you think you're better than me?".
The summary of it all: its a fine line on how to talk to people, and if we don't continually think of all of the others involved, then we will inevitably end up seeing things from our perspective...so make sure to always consider the others =)
