I am getting all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled on July 11th and I don't know how long it will take me to recover from it. Trust me, I wouldn't be doing this if I didn't have cavaties in 2 of them, but might as well get it done and over with.

Make sure you follow doctor's orders about the pro-surgery drugs (to prevent infections). This is very important, especially this is summer time.

My concern is dry-socket and the pain that will follow the surgury. When I normally go to the dentist, the numbness wears off about 6 hours after I get my shots. I hear that about the time I will get home, 45 minutes, it will wear off.

Ask the doctor for pain killer medicines, or ask him or her to prescribe one, or like me I took the Tylenol.

Hey, there,
Just saw your posting, you will be just fine, I believe you will need to rinse your mouth with some salt solution to keep your sockets from getting infected till they are sealed by themselves.

I am back now. I must say though, never ever ever get your wisdom teeth pulled unless you get 'put out' for it. That was very painful. Glad I never have to do it again.
Yeah, I have to rinse my mouth out with warm salt water 3 times a day. (Yuck)
The day of it and after the surgury was bad, but after that I was fine. The only thing was, I kept on bleeding in the sockets, so I didn't get any sleep that night because I had to keep gause in my mouth. I could have chocked on it if I did fall asleep.
I got pain medication afterwards and I only needed it for the first day. After that, I didn't need it. I was surprised how quickly I recovered, but am glad I did. Just not used to 4 holes in the back of my mouth, instead of teeth.

Thank God! You did heal well. ;D
