"As this is a 'special' forum, there have to be certain rules to follow. I can't really punish you if you break the rules, but please don't ;D. Also, notes are designated with an asterisk (*) and are put in detail on the bottom of this post ;D.
1) If the topic is on the RP(*1) forum, it must have a plot or develop a plot. It's supposed to be "roleplaying," after all.
2) You're supposed to play as some character - even yourself will do. Roleplays are usually done in third person [paragraph] mode, except in some cases.
3) Double posting should be avoided. use the 'modify' button. Double-posting sometimes makes it difficult to read through all of the content that people posted in an RP. Obviously, if your post is too long to fit into one post, use two, but don't go crazy ;D.
4) Social topics are not role plays. For instance, you cannot start an out of character discussion about video games here.
5) Godmodding(*2) is not allowed, unless the GM of your RP says otherwise.(*3)
6) Character sheets/ooc(*4) discussions(*5) will be left in the RP forum until the RP they spawned from has ended or been closed according to the rules. In addition, if an RP is not started within a reasonable amount of time, the sign-up/char-sheet/ooc topic can be removed.
7) Closed RPs are not allowed. Period. If you start an RP, it must be open to anyone who wants to join. Once it starts, you can change that unconditional open to an open to characters approved by the GM(*6), but otherwise, RPs should always be open.
8) Using acronyms or abbreviations of words is generally frowned upon in roleplays. Try to spell correctly and use proper grammer. There are many different nationalities on this forum, though, so if you cannot spell great, that's alright. This rule is more of a general RP guideline ;D.
!!NOTES!!
*1 - RP is an acronym for RolePlaying
*2 - Godmodding is being too powerful or too almighty. Nobody has to die in an RP necessarily, but if someone knocks you into a wall, you should be hurt. Godmodding can be referring to anything from the example that I just gave to spells or abilities that are too powerful.
*3 - There are rare occasions that godmodding is part of a character (like, say, a god ;D), but be sure that you are approved by the GM to be using such a powerful character.
*4 - OOC stands for Out Of Character. This refers to basically anything that isn't roleplaying. Another why of saying you are Out Of Character is putting double captions around the OOC text Ex:
((This roleplay is really getting good!))
*5 - OOC discussions shoudl be done in the Sign-Up/Character Sheet/OOC topic relative to the Rp ou are talking about. These topics are generally the topic where people come to join the RP and talk about it out of character. These topics are the only place where OOC conversations are allowed, other than, of course, any sticky topics such as this one.
*6 - GM is an acronym for Game Master. Sometimes referred to as a Dungeon Master, or a DM, and a RP master. This is usually the guy/lady who started the RP.
*7 - One liners (only posting one sentence at a time) are roleplay killers. Please refrain from posting one liners as much as possible.
